Embroidered brooch by Trovelore.
Mason bees (Osmia spp.) are solitary pollinators known for sealing their nest chambers with mud. Far more efficient than honeybees, a few hundred can pollinate an entire orchard. Found across the Northern Hemisphere, they don’t make honey—but their gentle nature and leaf-roll nests highlight a quieter, vital rhythm in nature’s work. Their name reflects their masonry-like nesting style.
At Trovelore, we create only custom pieces in small batches.
