The Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria), with its bright red cap and white spots, is one of the most iconic fungi in the world.

Native to the Northern Hemisphere, it forms symbiotic bonds with birch and pine roots. Though toxic, it has been used in Siberian shamanic rituals. Its name comes from its old use as an insect lure.
